Previous Daily Reflections

Monday, September 29: In every season, God, You are faithful
Key Truth
"In every season, God, You are faithful."

Verse
Lamentations 3:19-24
19 I remember my affliction and my wandering,
    the bitterness and the gall.
20 I well remember them,
and my soul is downcast within me.
21 Yet this I call to mind
    and therefore I have hope:
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”

Prayer
Father, we thank you for your faithfulness in every season. We choose to look above the chaos of the news, our disappointments, and our fears. Instead, we embrace hope because of your never-ending compassion and faithfulness. Whatever this moment holds, we surrender it and wait expectantly to see your goodness in the middle of our circumstances.
Tuesday, September 30: Wait upon the Lord
Key Truth
“Wait upon the Lord”

Verse
Lamentations 3:25-26
25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
    to the one who seeks him;
26 it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.

Prayer
Father, we wait on you. When we don’t have answers, when life doesn’t make sense to us, we make the decision to seek You. We cling not to answers or clarity, but to a God that is good and faithful. We resolve in our hearts today to wait upon you. Only in you, can we have hope for the future!
Wednesday, October 1: God’s love for us never fails
Key Truth
“God’s love for us never fails”

Verse
Lamentations 3:31-33
31 For no one is cast off
    by the Lord forever.
32 Though he brings grief, he will show compassion,
so great is his unfailing love.
33 For he does not willingly bring affliction
    or grief to anyone.

Prayer
Lord, your love is our consolation in the midst of difficulty. We acknowledge the grief of sin and brokenness in our lives and in this world. Even still, as we consider your compassion and unfailing love - we lift our eyes, our hearts and minds to you. Thank you that you have the final word in every season and situation.
Thursday, October 2: Call upon the Lord and He will draw near to you
Key Truth
“Call upon the Lord and He will draw near to you”

Verse
Lamentations 3:55-57
55 I called on your name, Lord,
from the depths of the pit.
56 You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears
    to my cry for relief.”
57 You came near when I called you,
and you said, “Do not fear.”

Prayer
Thank you God, that there is no distance between us that is too great. No matter how lost we become, you never lose us. You are near to us and ever present to our distress. We call upon YOU and you alone! We resist the urge to call upon anyone or anything other than you. You are God, you are sovereign and we put our faith in YOU!
Friday, October 3: Great is Thy Faithfulness
Verse
Psalm 89:1
I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever;
with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known
through all generations.

Worship
Take a moment to meditate on this hymn: Great is Thy Faithfulness
Monday, October 6: Say yes to following Jesus
Key Truth
“Say yes to following Jesus”

Verse
Matthew 4:19-20
19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed him.

Prayer
God, we thank you for the invitation you extend to each of us to follow you. As we set you at the center of our lives, help us to respond to your call. You are better than anything we leave behind, and we willingly drop what is familiar to go wherever you may lead us.
Tuesday, October 7: Jesus is our Good Shepherd
Key Truth
“Jesus is our Good Shepherd”

Verse
John 10:27
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Prayer
Lord, our hearts long to know you and to be attuned to your voice. Today, we rest in confidence that you speak clearly in all seasons. We release our own plans and surrender our steps, choosing to walk with you through every peak and every valley.
Wednesday, October 8: Following Jesus requires surrender
Key Truth
“Following Jesus requires surrender.”

Verse
Luke 9:23-24
23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

Prayer
Father, we know that selfishness comes naturally. Yet true life is only found in surrender to you. Show us where we hold on too tightly, and help us to trust You enough to let go.
Thursday, October 9: Follow the example of Jesus
Key Truth
"Follow the Example of Jesus"

Verse
1 Peter 2:21
21 “For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.“

Prayer
Lord, we thank you for the way you lead us in difficult seasons and circumstances. We are grateful for a God like you, who is well acquainted with suffering and sacrifice. As we navigate trials in our lives, help us to remember you and to recognize that we are in good company. Give us strength today to follow you in the midst of painful and confusing circumstances.
Friday, October 10: Serve Jesus by following His example
Key Truth
"Serve Jesus by Following His Example"

Verse
John 13:13-15
13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

Prayer
Lord, as we seek to follow you in every area of our lives, help us to remember your love for others. You set an example of service as you washed the feet of the disciples. You left them with a charge to go and do the same. Help us to not lose sight of that as we walk out our own faith.
