Previous Daily Reflections

September 29 - October 3

Monday, September 29: In every season, God, You are faithful
Key Truth
"In every season, God, You are faithful."

Verse
Lamentations 3:19-24
19 I remember my affliction and my wandering,
    the bitterness and the gall.
20 I well remember them,
and my soul is downcast within me.
21 Yet this I call to mind
    and therefore I have hope:
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”

Prayer
Father, we thank you for your faithfulness in every season. We choose to look above the chaos of the news, our disappointments, and our fears. Instead, we embrace hope because of your never-ending compassion and faithfulness. Whatever this moment holds, we surrender it and wait expectantly to see your goodness in the middle of our circumstances.
Tuesday, September 30: Wait upon the Lord
Key Truth
“Wait upon the Lord”

Verse
Lamentations 3:25-26
25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
    to the one who seeks him;
26 it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.

Prayer
Father, we wait on you. When we don’t have answers, when life doesn’t make sense to us, we make the decision to seek You. We cling not to answers or clarity, but to a God that is good and faithful. We resolve in our hearts today to wait upon you. Only in you, can we have hope for the future!
Wednesday, October 1: God’s love for us never fails
Key Truth
“God’s love for us never fails”

Verse
Lamentations 3:31-33
31 For no one is cast off
    by the Lord forever.
32 Though he brings grief, he will show compassion,
so great is his unfailing love.
33 For he does not willingly bring affliction
    or grief to anyone.

Prayer
Lord, your love is our consolation in the midst of difficulty. We acknowledge the grief of sin and brokenness in our lives and in this world. Even still, as we consider your compassion and unfailing love - we lift our eyes, our hearts and minds to you. Thank you that you have the final word in every season and situation.
Thursday, October 2: Call upon the Lord and He will draw near to you
Key Truth
“Call upon the Lord and He will draw near to you”

Verse
Lamentations 3:55-57
55 I called on your name, Lord,
from the depths of the pit.
56 You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears
    to my cry for relief.”
57 You came near when I called you,
and you said, “Do not fear.”

Prayer
Thank you God, that there is no distance between us that is too great. No matter how lost we become, you never lose us. You are near to us and ever present to our distress. We call upon YOU and you alone! We resist the urge to call upon anyone or anything other than you. You are God, you are sovereign and we put our faith in YOU!

Prayer
Lord, as we seek to follow you in every area of our lives, help us to remember your love for others. You set an example of service as you washed the feet of the disciples. You left them with a charge to go and do the same. Help us to not lose sight of that as we walk out our own faith.

Prayer
Father, thank you for allowing us the privilege and honor of worshipping you with our entire being. Heavenly Father, holy is your name. Thank you for being steadfast in our lives when it feels like everything around us is shaken. May we never forget that on our darkest days and our best days, you remain true. You are faithful to your promises, and you delight in spending time with us. Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice to save us from ourselves so that we might have a relationship with you. We stand in awe of who you are.
Thursday, October 16: Let God transform you
Key Truth
“Let God Transform You”

Verse
Romans 12:1-2
1 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[a] I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Prayer
God, we praise you with everything we have. Help us to be in a state of constant surrender of our worldly positions and possessions. Help us to constantly lay down our comfort, preferences, and uncertainty to pick up a heart so full of gratitude that it can’t help but tell the world about who you are and all that you have done to save humanity. We pray that we would be unified as one and completely expectant for all that you are going to do in and through us.

Key Truth
“Jesus is Forming You”

Verse

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Prayer
Father, thank you that your work in us is not finished. We surrender to your transforming power in our lives today. Help us to behold you, to fix our eyes on Jesus, knowing that as we do, you are shaping us into His image. Give us patience with the process and faith to trust that you are faithful to complete the good work you've started in us. We want to reflect your glory in everything we do.

Help us to trust your process, even when it's uncomfortable or unclear. Give us patience as you mold us and shape us. We know that your timing is perfect and your methods are loving. Thank you for not giving up on us and for your commitment to finishing what you've started.
Wednesday, October 22: Have the mind of Christ
Key Truth
“Have the Mind of Christ”

Verse
Philippians 2:5-8
5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Prayer
Jesus, we want to think like you, love like you, and serve like you. Replace our pride with humility, our selfishness with sacrifice, and our fear with faith. Help us to see others the way you see them and to respond to every situation with your wisdom and grace. Form in us a heart that seeks to serve rather than be served. We pray that our thoughts, words, and actions would reflect your character today and every day.

Key Truth
“Put On Your New Self”

Verse
Ephesians 4:22-24

Prayer
God, we confess that we often cling to old patterns and habits that don't honor you. Give us the courage to release what needs to be released and the strength to embrace the new life you're calling us into. Renew our minds and transform our hearts. Help us to walk in righteousness and holiness, not by our own effort, but by the power of your Spirit. We want to be made new in every way.

Help us to encourage one another, challenge one another, and support one another as we grow in Christ. Unite us in purpose and vision. As each of us allows Jesus to form us, may we also contribute to the growth and health of the whole body. We pray for deep, authentic relationships that spur us on toward love and good deeds.
