Service on Saturday, February 24 will be held at the Prosper campus (2000 W Prosper Trail). We will not meet at Frisco East or stream this service online.

who is hope residency for?

The focus of Hope Residency is to develop emerging leaders who are considering a career in ministry. Residents gain practical experience in vocational ministry, which fosters growth in leadership useful for both those who do not work in vocational ministry and those who do.

A great candidate for Hope Residency will:
  • Be at least 20 years of age.
  • Have a developed set of strong core values and possess a degree of spiritual, relational, and emotional maturity. Residency is designed to grow, refine and sharpen a young leader who has already built a strong foundation of faith and personal health.
  • Be willing to engage in their development journey and have the ability to adapt to the change that comes with growth.

what to expect:

  • One-on-one mentorship within your ministry department
  • Weekly theology instruction, leadership training, and development specifically designed for the resident team, and further tailored to the development needs of each resident
  • Hands-on experience and training in vocational ministry basics
  • Resources including conferences, service trips, books, and trainings with high-level leadership to foster growth in ministerial leadership as well as personal, relational, and spiritual growth
  • Spiritual encouragement and discipleship
  • Targeted insight and guided assistance in resume and interview prep

Do I need to have or be pursuing a college degree to apply for Hope Residency?

No. Pursuing a college degree is not a requirement to be considered for a residency position.

Do I have to be called to vocational ministry to apply for Hope Residency?

No. We know that many adults in their 20s are trying out different options and exploring various paths as they move to the center of God’s purpose for their life, and that’s really good! Some people know beyond the shadow of a doubt that they are called to work in vocational ministry, and some people are called to ministry that may or may not take place in a church. Vocational ministry is unique and can be very fulfilling, but it can be difficult to determine if it’s the right path for you until you try it. Wherever you are on your journey, Hope Residency will give you the opportunity to grow as a leader and hopefully move closer to the center of God’s purpose for your life, wherever that might be.

Are residents able to work another job outside of Hope Residency?

Residents may work another job outside of Hope Fellowship during their residency as long as their schedule as a resident is not impacted. Due to the nature of their employment status, residents may get paid for a total of 28 hours each week and will be scheduled for a full 28 hours each week. Paid contract work with Hope Fellowship in any department would put a resident over their allotted 28 hours, so residents can not work another job at Hope while they are a resident.
